    It all ended in a whisper. No sounds of trumpets, no rains of fire, no rapture to pull all souls to heaven or hell. Just one day, they were just. Gone. As if they never had existed at all in the first place. Heaven, Hell, Earth, all left to their own devices to pick up the tabs left by God and Satan.

    While the Earth slept peacefully, the cosmos were plunged into disrepair-- the deep depths of Hell began to freeze, trapping the worst of the worst demons with it as the lesser demons scattered to the surface to avoid an eternal stasis. And in Heaven the power of God’s magic that kept it aloft snapped, breaking the paradise free from the sky and sending it falling down to Earth with all its denizens that resided in it. The shooting stars of the angels and mortal souls that fell were seen across the globe. Dividing them between the Earth’s surface and the moon, the lunar inhabitants were cut from the rest of their kin with no way to communicate without God’s magic.

    The angels left abandoned on the moon fell into despair,

    “Woe, what is our purpose now?” they wept.

    And wept and wept they did day and night for two hundred years. Lonely and afraid they flooded the surface of the moon with their tears from beyond the veil, unable to cry out to anyone to hear them but each other.

Direct servants to God

Seraphim

Seraphim are kept closest to God's side, singing praises in his name. They are also responsible to heavenly communication, giving tasks and orders to the other angels.

Cherubim

Cherubim protect the gates of Heaven, its residents, and the throne of God itself.



Ophanim

Ophanim are responsible for keeping God's will mysterious. They have the ability to confuse, distract, or even turn others to madness in order to veil their great works.

Executors of God's will on the Earth and stars

Dominions

Dominions are responsible for the movement of the stars and celestial bodies, keeping everything orderly and running like clockwork.

Virtues

Virtues control the elements, the natural forces of the Earth, and also can manifest divine miracles for the mortals that live there.

Powers

Powers are the wardens responsible for imprisoned demons and the locations that their cells are held. Each of their segments have wings so they can fly on their own in the case of an escapee.

Principalities

Principalities are guides and protectors to groups of people, guiding over nations and collective bodies instead of individuals.

Archangels

Archangels are able to fight off demons who directly attack mortals and take on specific tasks that go beyond the scope of a lower angel's powers.

Angels

Lower angels are commonly referred to as Guardian Angels. They are responsible for guiding mortals, whispering in their ears and guiding them in the right direction. They also have the ability to manifest in a burst to protect mortals, but lack any ability to fight for themselves.
